One method historians use to analyze and evaluate diaries is to determine how many times specific subjects are mentioned. Using the downloadable chart, select several topics that are mentioned in Dorry Shaw’s diary and Mae Roberts’ diaries. Place each topic in a box along the side of the chart. Make a mark or a comment under the appropriate name as you encounter that topic in their diaries.
