State Historic Sites Begin Summer Season May 23

BISMARCK –State historic sites managed by the State Historical Society of North Dakota will begin summer hours on Saturday, May 23, 2015, and continue through Labor Day.

State historic sites opening for the season are Gingras Trading Post near Walhalla, and Fort Abercrombie Interpretive Center near Fargo and Wahpeton.

State historic sites expanding their hours for the summer season are the Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile site near Cooperstown, the Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center (part of Fort Buford) near Williston, the Chateau and the Interpretive Center at the Chateau de Mores site near Medora, Fort Totten near Devils Lake, and Camp Hancock in Bismarck. Also expanding its hours is the Pembina State Museum. The Former Governors’ Mansion in Bismarck summer hours run from May 15 through Labor Day.

Summer hours for state historic sites beginning May 23:
Camp Hancock, Friday – Sunday, 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. CDT
Chateau de Mores, Daily, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. MDT
Fort Abercrombie, Daily, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. CDT
Fort Buford, Daily, 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. CDT
Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center, Daily, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. CDT
Fort Totten, Daily, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. CDT
Gingras Trading Post, Daily, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. CDT
Pembina State Museum, Monday – Saturday, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., Sunday, 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. CDT
Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile Site, Daily, 10 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. CDT

Fort Clark near Washburn and Whitestone Hill near Kulm do not have set hours and are open year-round during daylight hours.

Summer hours for the Former Governor’s Mansion beginning May 15 are Monday- Friday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Saturday- Sunday, noon - 4 p.m. CDT.

The State Museum at the North Dakota Heritage Center in Bismarck is open year-round, Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Saturday- Sundays from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. CDT.
