Historic Sites

Ready for a historic adventure? Welcome to North Dakota's 60 state museums and historic sites! Explore the state's past and present, and make your own connections to our significant places, landscapes, and cultures.

Please note that some state historic sites offer interpreters, visitor centers with exhibits and stores, furnished buildings, picnic areas, and other amenities. Others lie obscurely in pastures without a monument or fencepost to mark their existence. A few sites are currently closed to visitors because of lack of accessibility, concerns about preservation, or out of respect for American Indians who hold these places sacred. If you have questions you'll find the most current visitor information here, or call us at 701.328.2666.
