Abstract: The North Dakota Quilt Project goal was to find and document all quilts in North Dakota made before 1960 and was part of the state centennial celebration in 1989. Many of the quilts were displayed around the state. The records document each quilt pattern design for quilting clubs in 45 of North Dakota's 53 counties. The design was added to a quilt commemorating the state's centennial. Colored slides of each quilt are available along with a list of participating counties.

Provenance: The State Historical Society of North Dakota acquired the North Dakota Quilt Project records from Kim Baird of the Quilters’ Guild of North Dakota in August 1990.
