Four new galleries tell the fascinating story of North Dakota through thousands of artifacts and specimens, high-tech displays, and interactive exhibits.

Experience North Dakota’s heritage throughout the museum spaces. Shop in the Museum Store and enjoy meals and snacks at the James River Café.

From a life-size T. rex skeleton cast to a 1950s soda shop to rare beadwork, the State Museum offers interesting opportunities for you to connect North Dakota history with your life.

Heritage Center Hours:
State Museum and Museum Store: Mon-Fri, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sat & Sun, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
The State Museum and Heritage Center are closed New Year's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

State Archives and Historical Research Library:
Mon-Fri, 8am - 4:30pm, 2nd Sat of each month 10am-4:30pm, except state holidays

State Historical Society offices:
8am - 5pm M-F, except state holidays.
