WILLISTON – The Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center near Williston is gearing up for one of its most anticipated events of the year, the First Annual North Dakota Made Products Showcase, to be held Saturday, October 10 at the Confluence Center, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Central Time.
The event will feature several Pride of Dakota members as well as local entrepreneurs including Freedom Series, Jake and P.P. Garb, Legends of Africa, Stones and Things, North Star Caviar, North Dakota Fleece and Craft, Star Burst Designs, Leaf Creations and Plum Creek Jewelry.
Visitors will have the opportunity to view, sample and purchase outstanding products made right here in Dakota Territory while also taking in all that the Confluence Center has to offer. The beautiful scenery of the Confluence of the Missouri and Yellowstone Rivers offers visitors a glimpse of what Lewis and Clark once saw as they passed this historic place on their expedition in 1805 and 1806. Two galleries depicting the significance of the area and a gift shop with additional North Dakota and regionally-made products will be open.
The product showcase will be followed by refreshments. The evening will conclude with a campfire and special historical presentation by the Buffalo Hunter Vic Smith, as portrayed by local historian and actor Arch Ellwein.
The Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center is located 22 miles southwest of Williston. For more information, call the Fort Buford State Historic Site at (701) 572-9034.
