Biographical Note

Stella Rask Krageland was born May 12, 1895 in Hendrum, Minnesota to Halvor O. and Nellie/Petronilla (Bye) Rask. She had two older brothers, Oliver H. and Arthur and one younger sister, Ruby Rask Peterson. In June 1922 Stella married Odin Krageland, son of K. O. and Anna Krageland and they had one son, Howard R. and one daughter Marion Estelle Krageland Undhjem. Howard married Mary Adele Iverson in 1946 in Cass County, ND. The donor, Mary Luhman-Johnson is the daughter of Howard and Mary Krageland. Oliver Rask moved to Zahl, ND in 1916 and lived in Williams County. The papers involve business and farming ventures of H. O. and Oliver Rask, a lawsuit involving some land in Lake of the Woods, Minnesota and at the site of the Garrison Dam, a trust set up by H. O. Rask for Stella and Ruby, and citizenship papers and estate files for various family members.
